Your Dentistry Today Ribbon Cutting and Charity Announcement on June 20
Your Dentistry Today has expanded its ability to treat a diverse population of patients by moving its offices to Greenville Center, 3801 Kennett Pike, Suite E207 in Greenville, Delaware. The public is invited to participate in a relocation celebration on June 20, 2014, at 10:00 a.m., which includes a ribbon cutting, followed by an open house with refreshments and tours. Michael Matthias, D.M.D., M.A.G.D., will be on hand to speak about a number of expanded community outreach initiatives that coincide with the ribbon cutting.
Although it is just across the street from its previous location, the office is larger, modernized and is now handicap accessible. Dr. Matthias has been a member of the dental staff at Practice Without Pressure, Inc., a Delaware non-profit that specializes in healthcare for people with disabilities, for two years, and has been anxious to make his own practice more accessible to people with disabilities.
Matthias has also used this expansion of his practice as an opportunity to reinvigorate two community initiatives: his 1-2-3 Blue Hen Scholar Program and a community bulletin board. Matthias says, “When I started my Delaware practice over a decade ago, my wife and I pledged a University of Delaware scholarship fund, the Allen-Matthias Honorary Scholarship, in honor of our parents. With the expansion of the practice, we are recommitted to rapidly growing the fund through the 1-2-3 Blue Hen Scholar Program.”
The 1-2-3 Blue Hen Scholar Program refers to the structure of the practice’s donations to the fund: Matthias will donate $1 for every one of his existing patients that sees him in the new office, $2 for every former patient from his Pennsylvania practice who returns as a patient and $3 for every new patient he sees between July 1 and December 31, 2014. In 2015, he hopes to begin donating a portion of every Invisalign® treatment to the fund. Matthias has also donated money to this fund, as well as schools, troops and other charities through his Smile FUNd-raiser program, which donates $50 from every teeth whitening sold in the name of the charity.
Also in the works is a virtual community bulletin board on yourdentistrytoday.com. The physical bulletin board in the previous office was a successful opportunity for vendors and patients to exchange information about their businesses, charity initiatives and other offers.
Bill Russell of Wye Realty Advisors is Your Dentistry Today’s real estate advisor. He says, “Dr. Matthias’ focus on achieving improved access and convenience for his patients was the driving force behind his relocation to the new office in Greenville Center.”
