Wilmington Trust Breaks Ground on New Full-Service Branch in Smyrna
Everyone in Delaware knows the leading retail and commercial bank in Delaware is Wilmington Trust. After all, you can find their bank branches and ATM’s on almost every corner. Yesterday, they moved a little closer to actually being on every corner when they broke ground on its new full-service branch office in Smyrna, Delaware.
Slated to open in the first quarter of 2008, the new branch will be located in the Simon’s Corner Shopping Center on U.S. 13 across from the South Smyrna exit of Delaware Route 1.
“Since opening our branch office in Smyrna nearly 16 years ago, this area of Kent County has grown considerably,” said Robert V.A. Harra Jr., president and chief operating officer of Wilmington Trust. “We look forward to building a modern, convenient branch in Smyrna to help us better meet the needs of the residents of this growing part of our state.”
The new 4,000 square-foot facility is being constructed by Nowland Associates, Inc. of Newark. The interior will feature five teller windows, an open reception area, safe deposit services, and a Hi!TECH® ATM that can accept deposits and cash checks to the penny. Outside, a canopy-covered drive-in will have three lanes, including a drive-up ATM.
