Wilmington Announces Annual $10K Business Plan Competition

The City of Wilmington’s Office of Economic Development recently announced that it is offering up to $10,00 in prize money for existing and aspiring entrepreneurs who can come up with a top-notch business plan.
The competition is open to any individual or small business owner who has previously participated in any small business training program in the state. The three categories that can be entered are emerging entrepreneurs who have up to four years in business, existing enterprises, four to eight years in businesses and established businesses in operation eight years or more.
The competition is part of the city’s Mega BizFest program, a series of events and initiatives geared toward women, minority owned and other small businesses.
Entries will be accepted between now and July 31st. Finalists will present plans to judges and a winner will be announced in early October.
