This Man Will Be Missed in Newark
Tim Herman passed away this fall and He will be missed.
It is amazing that his widow, Christine is able to open the shop they ran together for so many years on Cleveland Avenue. They had tried to sell the business when they found out that Tim had cancer but did not make that happen.
Small businesses are notoriously illiquid and difficult to value. If your wealth is tied up in a small business it is a good idea to insure yourself adequately to cover a number of contingencies.
Many in Newark are glad they could not sell the business since the feel of the place would surely change. Herman’s Quality Meat Shoppe has been a family run, welcoming place for so long, many people just would not know how to get through the holidays without them.
Herman’s is open again now. Doing what they always do.
