Teaming for Contracts: a Small Business Matchmaking Event
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Delaware District Office and the Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) will host Teaming for Contracts: a Small Business Matchmaking Event on Wednesday, June 15, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Executive Banquet and Conference Center in Newark.
A panel of Aberdeen Proving Ground officials will discuss business opportunities and logistics for small businesses interested in working at the military facility. The matchmaking event, for small business owners interested in winning government and corporate contracts with a special focus on Aberdeen contracting opportunities, will also feature one-on-one appointments for business owners and representatives from defense contractors and other prime contractors, corporations, and federal, state and local government agencies. The speed networking format allows small businesses to market themselves to a wide range of potential clients in a cost effective manner and network with each other to identify potential teaming partners for contract bids.
“This is a great event for small businesses to get their foot in the door with prime contractors, corporations and government agencies that would take a long time and a lot of money to reach individually,” said Jayne Armstrong, district director of SBA’s Delaware District Office. “We’re encouraging small businesses to team with their peers, which better positions them to win contracts.”
Participating agencies and companies include: Lockheed Martin, SAIC, Weston Solutions, DuPont, AstraZeneca, Ceridian, NASA, multiple divisions of Aberdeen Proving Ground, Army Corps of Engineers, Defense Logistics Agency, Department of the Army, Department of the Navy, Dover Air Force Base, Federal Emergency Management Agency, General Services Administration, U.S. Coast Guard, Delaware Department of Transportation, Delaware Health and Social Services, Delaware Services for Family and Youth, Delaware Technology and Information Office, New Castle County, City of Wilmington and the Wilmington Housing Authority.
Small businesses, as the sellers, will be matched with buyers based on their North American Industrial Classification Codes which identify the firm’s capabilities, products and services. Attendees are encouraged to bring marketing materials and capabilities statements to effectively market their businesses. Small businesses can register for this free event online.
