Suiting Warriors Foundation Launches Ropes for Hopes
The Suiting Warriors Foundation’s inaugural “Ropes for Hopes” event will be held at Go Ape in Lums Pond on Saturday, October 26, 2013. Participants will make their way through a fun-filled, action-packed treetop adventure course to raise money for Suiting Warriors, a nonprofit veterans’ support organization.
The Suiting Warriors Foundation was founded by Star Lotta in 2012 following the passing of a loved one who was a veteran in transition. SWF supports and empowers veterans transitioning into civilian life by providing them with professional attire essential for competing in today’s job market. SWF accepts suit and clothing donations and connects job-seeking veterans with resources.
The Ropes for Hopes benefit needs at least 28 participants, each raising a minimum of $300 in pledges from an individual or $500 per couple. The course features five zip-lines and 40 obstacles throughout the 200-acre Lums Pond terrain. Start times will be staggered – 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. – and a half-hour orientation and safety training preceding the two-hour course. Check-in begins at 8:00 a.m., and a tailgate will take place in the picnic area immediately after the event. Prizes will be awarded to the participant who raised the most pledges.
Space is limited, and pre-registration is required. Participants may register individually or as a team at info@suitingwarriors.org, and be sure to check out our story by watching this video http://youtu.be/yIycVvbpVs4.
