Starting May 2, 2015 there’s a new way to resolve business disputes in Delaware
The First State has a long history of working with the corporate and legal communities to make Delaware an attractive place to form a business. That’s why to date Delaware is home to more than than one million business entities. That’s more than one business entity per person, including more than 50% of all publicly-traded companies in the United States which includes 64% of the Fortune 500.
Recently, a new law regarding the arbitration of business disputes has created yet another reason to make businesses look to the State of Delaware as their legal home.
The new legislation (HB 49 w/HA 1), signed by Governor Jack Markell on April 2, gives business entities formed in Delaware greater capacity to resolve business disputes in a rapid and efficient manner through voluntary arbitration conducted by expert arbitrators under strict timelines.
In business, time is money. The new arbitration rules will only bolster the position of The State of Delaware as a leading domicile for U.S. and international corporations.
