SBA and AARP to Present National Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Day Event in Delaware
Did you know that one in four individuals ages 44 to 70 interested in becoming entrepreneurs, and 63 percent of Americans planning to work during retirement? Small business ownership is a good option. Small business owners with long-term counselors see bigger sales, hire more workers and last longer. SBA and AARP will provide the training and mentoring services older entrepreneurs need to successfully start and grow businesses and create jobs.
The U.S. Small Business Administration and AARP are teaming up to present National Mentor Month, a nationwide effort to promote entrepreneurship among individuals over the age of 50. As part of that effort, SBA and AARP will present an Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Day event in Delaware on April 23, 2014 targeted to prospective and current second career-small business owners, introducing them to technical assistance and financing resources available to them to support their entrepreneurial ventures.
The Delaware Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Day events will be presentations spotlighting: technical business assistance resources; business financing resources; franchising opportunities; and second-career entrepreneurs discussing their experience starting a business.
