Prizes offered for best Delaware video
Amateur and professional videographers alike are invited to enter the Delaware Tourism Office’s inaugural Video Contest, a competition that aims to highlight Delaware’s appeal as a great place to visit and take a vacation.
Modeled after the office’s successful 2011-2012 Photo Contest, the competition will consider video submissions in four categories:
■ “Scenic/Seasonal,” focusing on a Delaware landscape as seen in spring, summer, winter or fall;
■ “Things to Do,” featuring attractions that will entice a traveler to visit from out-of-state (e.g., beaches, dining, breweries, outdoor recreation, DuPont estates, tax-free shopping);
■ “Events,” which could include such popular get-togethers as the Firefly Music Festival, NASCAR race weekend, Fourth of July fireworks, Dover Days Festival, or Punkin Chunkin); and
■ “Fun/Viral,” including any offbeat and creative composition that shows Delaware at its best.
Entries may be submitted from June 3, 2013 to December 31, 2013. A panel of experts will select the winners based on technical skill, composition, and creativity, with the overall goal to convince a consumer to travel to Delaware. Cash prizes range from $150-$1,000. The winner will be announced early next year.
