Philly Fed June 2014 Business Outlook Survey
The Business Outlook Survey is a monthly survey of manufacturers in the Third Federal Reserve District (which includes Delaware). Participants indicate the direction of change in overall business activity and in the various measures of activity at their plants: employment, working hours, new and unfilled orders, shipments, inventories, delivery times, prices paid, and prices received. The survey has been conducted each month since May 1968.
The June Business Outlook Survey suggests continued expansion of the region’s manufacturing sector. Firms reported continued increases in overall activity, new orders, shipments, and employment this month. An increased share of firms reported higher input prices this month. The survey’s future activity indexes showed a notable improvement, indicating that firms expect continued growth and employment increases over the next six months.
