Personalized User Model wins first round in case against Google over search engine personalization patents
Late last week, the District Court in Delaware ruled on Google’s attempt to change venue in a patent infringement case brought by Personalized User Model (PUM). Marc Friedman of Sonnenschein, Nath and Rosenthal, LLC had the following to say:
“We are pleased that the court chose to keep this case in Delaware where Google chose to incorporate and deny its Motion to Transfer Venue to the Northern District of California where it likely expected to achieve some “home field advantage.” Personalized User Model looks forward to proceeding ahead with this case in Delaware and is confident of success.
Protecting all property, and especially intellectual property in our information-based economy, is at the foundation of the American free-enterprise system. In the end, Google will be held accountable for its blatant violation of that fundamental legal and moral principle.”
