New Barclays facility in Newark could create up to 500 jobs in Delaware
Good news from the financial sector seems hard to come by these days. It sounds like we can put this one in the “win” column.
Governor Jack Markell announced Wednesday that Barclaycard US, the credit card business of Barclays PLC in the United States, will be creating hundreds of new jobs in Delaware over the next five years.
The new customer contact center will be located at 700 Frontage Rd. in the Iron Hill Corporate Center.
In Newark, Barclaycard will have access to a skilled work force with experience in the financial services industry, said Joe Purzycki, Chief Operating Officer, Barclaycard US.
“Newark is an ideal fit for Barclaycard because of its proximity to the headquarters of our business in Wilmington and to high quality educational institutions that provide a great source of employment candidates and education programs.”
