Meeting Illustrates Problems with “Drill Baby Drill!”
“Drill, Baby Drill!” got the crowd going, but it will not apparently get else anything moving anytime soon. PilotOnLine.com reports today on a meeting held at Williamsburg, VA where over 100 scientists hashed out what research must be done before any drilling can occur off of the coast of Virginia.
The scientists point out that drilling off the coast of Virginia will create possible environmental impacts in Maryland and North Carolina waters. Expect delays.
Drilling operators will also need to deal with
North Atlantic right whale, which has a dangerous habit of colliding with ships and dying.
“Don’t ask me why they don’t just get out of the way, but they don’t,” said Scott Krauss, a researcher with the New England Aquarium.
Expect delays.
