Marketing and Operations Specialist sought by The Technology Forum of Delaware

The Technology Forum of Delaware (“TechForum DE”) is a regionally focused non-profit organization for technology, business, and entrepreneurial leaders. TechForum DE is dedicated to promoting technology business growth by helping businesses and individuals acquire the knowledge, relationships, and resources needed to compete and succeed in a global economy. TechForum DE holds monthly educational and networking events… and they’re hiring a Marketing and Operations Specialist!

Responsibilities:

35-40 hours a week at $15 an hour will be spent supporting the TechForum DE and its Board of Directors, reporting to the President, and assisting with event planning, marketing, membership, sponsorships, partnerships, Board meetings, and the general day-to-day administration needed to keep TechForum DE operating smoothly. Additional compensation will be paid through a defined performance-based program that tracks TechForum DE metrics such as membership retention.

  • Events: helping organize each event and running all logistical aspects of the event
  • Marketing: PR and promotional activities to build the brand and grow event attendance
  • Memberships: manage members and work to attract new individual and corp. members
  • Sponsorships: support Board efforts for corp. sponsors and attract event sponsorships
  • Partnerships: help interface to partner organizations to build brand and drive attendance
  • Board meeting: run MyCommittee and support Board President and Committee Chairs
  • Administrative: run WildApricot and manage operations, billings, supplies, etc.
  • Qualifications:

  • Highly self-motivated and driven to achieve results with minimal oversight
  • Ability to develop creative and practical solutions to problems
  • Good diplomacy skills and ability to “manage up” in a Board-run organization
  • Enjoys working both independently and in a team environment
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong commitment to quality client service
  • Professional integrity and uncompromising ethics
  • Background/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing or business, or equivalent experience
  • At least three years work experience in a related setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and ability to work with TechForum DE’s website tools: MyCommittee and WildApricot
  • Basic knowledge of HTML editing and basic graphic editing skills (e.g., Photoshop)
