Hercules Update

Ashland Inc. (ASH) has taken a beating in the market since acquiring Hercules and the debt that the deal included. They have significantly cut the dividend and if you had invested in Ashland stock in 1983 you would still have the same stock price! (not adjusted)

The amount of debt incurred as part of the acquisition is perceived as a serious problem in this debt climate.
