Have Breakfast with Senator Coons

Have something on your mind that you’d like to share with a member of Delaware’s Congressional delegation?

Chris Coons was elected to the United States Senate by his fellow Delawareans in 2010. After taking office, Senator Coons was appointed to the Foreign Relations, Judiciary, Energy and Budget Committees– placing him at the nexus of promoting American innovation and making the United States more competitive in the global market. Additionally, he became the only freshman to be named a subcommittee chair when in February he was named chair of the Foreign Relations Subcommittee on African Affairs.

He recently reached across the aisle in a bipartisan effort to stimulate the economy by introducing the AGREE Act with Republican colleague Marco Rubio of Florida. The AGREE Act would Extend 100 percent bonus depreciation through 2012 for the full cost of qualified investments such as equipment and property, extend Section 179 expensing levels for small businesses through 2012, eliminate taxes on certain small business stock through 2012, extend the Research & Development tax credit until 2013, increase the Alternative Simplified Credit (ASC) from 14 percent to 20 percent, makes the ASC permanent, provide veterans with a tax credit equal to 25% of the fee associated with starting a franchise up to $100,000 and includes a number of other provisions designed to assist businesses in investing in plant, property and people here at home.
