Happy Take Your Dog To Work Day®
Today more than 10,000 companies around the world, including some in Delaware, will be celebrating Take Your Dog to Work Day.
What is Take Your Dog To Work Day® and what is its purpose?
Pet Sitters International created TYDTWDay in 1999. It was created as a way to celebrate the great companions dogs make. This annual event encourages employers to experience the value of pets in the workplace, even if just for one day! Ultimately, it’s about encouraging pet adoptions from shelters, humane societies and rescue groups.
Just in case you are a skeptical employer, Pet Sitters has some info regarding FAQ’s for you:
Why should an employer want to be a part of this dog day?
• Studies show that pets in the workplace boost employee morale, productivity and even sales!
• TYDTWDay is a great public relations opportunity and lots of fun!
• Participation in TYDTWDay helps save the lives of homeless shelter animals in your area and around the world!
What if my employer has concerns about lost productivity due to dogs in the workplace?
Studies have shown that pets in the workplace can actually increase productivity. However, if this is a concern, there are many PSI members willing to volunteer their services on-site. These professionals can help with potty breaks, dog walks and other doggie needs.

I hadn’t heard of this one before. I guess I’m too late now.
Then again, I don’t have a dog. ðŸ™
