First Shipment of Aragonite Product Arrives at the Port of Wilmington
Recently, Governor Jack Markell and representatives from the Delaware Economic Development Office and the Port of Wilmington, Delaware welcomed CaCO3 Aragonite Products, Inc. (CaCO3 Aragonite) and company CEO, Erik Davison to Delaware. The company’s commitment to begin operations in Delaware was marked on March 23 by the arrival of CaCO3 Aragonite’s first oolitic aragonite shipment at the Port of Wilmington onboard m/v Atlantic Express.
CaCO3 Aragonite founders recognize the current and future demand for a calcium carbonate product that is pure, bio-reactive, and sustainable. As a result, the company develops products that are practical, economical and whose application sustains and enhances the environment.
CaCO3 Aragonite markets, sells and distributes oolitic aragonite from the Bahamas to commercial customers in North and South America. The material is dredged from the shallow, warm waters off the east coast of Florida. The product is able to replace some petroleum-based products in the filler markets, and carries a greener footprint than traditionally mined limestone products.
