Financial Professionals Can Learn About Estate Planning and Earn Continuing Education Credit at Layton Seminar
This opportunity, co-sponsored by the Delaware Community Foundation and the Delaware Tech Educational Foundation, is part of the Howard R. Layton Seminar Series. Layton was a certified public accountant who had an important role on the Southern Delaware Advisory Committee of the Delaware Community Foundation and served on the Educational Foundation Investment Committee and the Development Council at Delaware Technical & Community College.
The seminar will be presented by Arthur J. Werner of Werner-Rocca Seminars. Werner practices business, tax, financial and estate planning for high net worth individuals. In addition, he is an adjunct professor in taxation from Widener University. The seminar is underwritten by Wilmington Trust Wealth Advisory Services.
The morning session, “Estate Planning for 2011 and Beyond,” will focus on potential legislation that would make sweeping changes to the Internal Revenue Code regarding estate, gift and generation-skipping taxation. The afternoon session, “Psychology of Planning,” will focus on “human” issues involved in estate and financial planning.

When: Oct. 28, 2011 from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Cost: A single session is $115. The full day is $190 by Oct. 14, or $215 for those who register between Oct. 15 and Oct. 26.
The seminar is approved for eight hours of Continuing Professional Education credit for certified public accountants, public accountants and enrolled agents by the National Association of State Board of Accountancy (all states). It is also approved for eight hours of Continuing Legal Education for Delaware attorneys. Approval is pending for eight hours of Continuing Education credit for certified financial planners, certified trust financial advisors and certified life underwriters.
