Employment Situation – The U.S. Jobs Market Improves
Believe it or not, things are looking up.
Here is a summary of the BLS jobs report for February, which was just recently released:
• U.S. employers added 236,000 jobs in February, far exceeding analyst expectations
• The unemployment fell from 7.9 percent to 7.7 percent – its lowest since December 2008
• Largest job gains were reported in professional/business services (73,000), construction (48,000) and health care (32,000)
• The unemployment rate for college-degreed workers aged 25 and older stands at 3.8 percent
• Temporary help services added 16,000 jobs over the month
