China provides vast opportunities for trade and investment in all major sectors including information and communication technologies, energy, chemicals, natural resources, textiles, metals, heavy engineering, consumer goods and financial services. Promising new markets for every conceivable durable and non- durable goods are being created by the rising income levels of the population residing in China. Further, global companies can benefit from large and skilled, yet comparatively low-cost human resources for the entire spectrum of activities – from knowledge- intensive R&D, design, and software services, to labor- intensive manufacturing activities and business/knowledge processes.
