Discover, Delaware Tech Partners in Work-at-Home Jobs Program
One of the many challenges facing military families is finding employment close to home so they can stay near their communities and close to their children. This summer, Discover Bank and Delaware Tech began a partnership to offer the Work-at-Home Jobs Program for Dover Air Force Base military families. The program offers flexibility to family members in where and how they work. Piloted in Delaware, the jobs program could potentially go national if it is successful here.
The program was launched June 3rd by Discover with the Delaware Tech Terry Campus to train customer service representatives who will be working from home. This program provides a virtual call center training facility for new employees who are seeking careers in the financial services industry. In addition to training, Discover supplies each new employee with the necessary equipment and installation support to ensure a successful working environment at home.
“Discover would like to expand this partnership,” explained Jeff Moran, Discover’s Regional Operations Director. Discover is currently discussing ways to develop with Delaware Tech new customer service training opportunities.
Delaware Tech – the First State’s only community college – offers academic, technical and continuing education, and corporate and community training comprising more than 120 associate degree, diploma and certificate programs.
