Delaware to slash budget by $55.1 million
The struggles of the economy as a whole are far reaching. Even to legislative hall in Dover.
It’s no secret that the current year revenue collection forecasts by the Delaware Economic and Financial Advisory Council (DEFAC) are bleak. In an attempt to ensure that our state ends the year in a financially sound position, Governor Ruth Ann Minner announced yesterday that there will be $55.1 Million in budget expenditure reductions.
“We have seen states throughout this country adversely affected by the current economic downturn and Delaware is no different,” said Governor Minner.
So what gets cut?
The expenditure reductions are actually comprised of $53 million in reversions and $2.1 million in deposits to revenue. They include the following:
- Delaware Governor-elect Jack Markell to host a public town hall meeting
- Delaware Businesses Hope For Holiday Shoppers
