Delaware Tech Nursing Department Chairs Appointed to National Subcommittees on Accreditation
Delaware Technical Community College is pleased to announce that the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission has appointed Jo Ann Baker and Tammy Paxton, Nursing Department Chairs at the College’s Dover and Georgetown Campuses respectively, to serve on national subcommittees for review of their Accreditation Standards and Criteria. Only 42 educators were selected from hundreds of volunteers nationwide based on expertise, experience, and geographical location.
Baker and Paxton will provide their expertise and guidance during the national review process and will work with other members of their subcommittees to develop a draft of recommendations for the 2013 Standards and Criteria final decision by the Board of Commissioners for the NLNAC. These standards define the high level of quality necessary for institutions to demonstrate in order to earn this program’s accreditation.
Baker has been a site visitor for the NLNAC since 2008. She has been on a total of eight site visits across the country to review and grant accreditation, serving as team chair for four of those visits. Paxton has been a site visitor since 2004 and has also been involved in eight institutional site visits, acting as team chair for five. Additionally, she has been a member of the NLNAC Evaluation Review Panel since 2010 and has participated in four panels on accreditation in that capacity.
