Delaware Humanities Forum Offers Grant Application Writing Workshop – Funding Available to Non-profits, Libraries and Others for Humanities Programming

The Delaware Humanities Forum (DHF), which provides financial support for public humanities programs in Delaware, is hosting a grant application writing workshop and invites staff and volunteers of nonprofit agencies to attend.

This workshop offers a unique opportunity for organizations of all sizes and from all three counties. DHF’s Application Review Committee and staff will explain DHF’s current grant programs and help participants explore the possibilities of partnering with DHF to strengthen the humanities content (for example: History, Literature, Ethics, Languages, Political Science, Comparative Religion) within their own programs. The presenters will share tips for preparing a well-written DHF grant application. Attendees are advised to become familiar with the definition of “the humanities” prior to the workshop and to envision how the humanities fit within their existing programs; the workshop is tailored specifically to those seeking funding for humanities programming in Delaware (not to those seeking humanitarian aid or desiring to learn how to write grant applications in general).

About the Delaware Humanities Forum

The humanities—subjects that include Literature, Ethics, Political Science and History—help people make connections between their own experiences and other people, cultures and ideas. Through grants and public program offerings, the Delaware Humanities Forum builds partnerships to connect the daily lives and work of Delawareans to the universe of human experience, thought and imagination. The Forum brings the public in contact with cultural, educational and civic institutions and their programs statewide, and focuses on issues of public interest and concern.

As a state division of the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Delaware Humanities Forum supports organizations by awarding grants and implementing project initiatives such as lectures, symposia, exhibitions, classroom programs and media projects. Your non-profit organization, school, library, or government agency may qualify for funding from the Forum.
