Delaware Family to Make Donation in Memory of 7 Year Old Variety Child at The Children’s Charity Celebrity Bowling Event Featuring Harry Kalas
On Wednesday, January 28th, Hall of Fame Broadcaster Harry Kalas, known as the voice of the World Series Champion Philadelphia Phillies, will bowl alongside children with special needs as well as Delaware celebrities at a fundraiser for Variety – The Children’s Charity. Variety has been offering support to children with disabilities and their families since 1935. One of those families, the family of the late Victoria Flick, will be at this event, making a very special donation to the charity.
Victoria Flick was born with Cerebral Palsy and sadly passed away at the age of seven in 2001. Victoria participated in Variety Delaware’s programs, and on Wednesday night, Victoria’s older sister who is now in high school in Delaware, will make a check presentation to Variety in Victoria’s memory. The money, along with that raised at Wednesday’s celebrity bowling event, will help Variety Delaware purchase wheelchairs, assistive devices and special equipment for Delaware’s children whose insurance companies do not provide coverage. It will also go toward Variety’s after school program and other resources offered by Variety which help improve the quality of life for children with disabilities and their families.
Other celebrities attending this event include Delaware Boxing Legend Dave Tiberi, NBC10 Reporter and Delaware native Tim Furlong, 6ABC Reporter Lauren Wilson, Miss Delaware, Miss Delaware Teen USA and The Phillies Ball Girls.
Delaware businesses and individuals are invited to attend Wednesday’s celebrity bowling event at the Pike Creek Bowling Center in Wilmington from 6pm until 9pm on Wednesday, January 28th for a donation to Variety in the amount of $50.
