Delaware Exports to China grow 844% Since 2000.
According to a new report (.pdf) published by the U.S.-China Business Council Delaware’s exports to China grew by 844% between 2000 and 2006. That is a phenomenal rate of growth. The total exports to China from Delaware last year were $150,000,000.00.
The top five categories of exports were:
- Computers and Electronics, $61M
- Chemical Manufactures, $35M
- Machinery Manufactures, $22M
- Processed Foods, $10M
- Mining, $5M
Delaware exports over $1.1 Billion worth of products to the United Kingdom. Canada is next with $634 Million and China ranks sixth among our trading partners in exports at the aforementioned $150M.
Delaware exports total $177 for every person in the state. Big farming states do better in this regard, but Delaware’s percentage increase was near the top.
