Delaware Entrepreneurial Activity Ranks as the Lowest in the Nation
What happened to being the First State?
According to a recent report by the Kauffman Foundation, fewer new businesses are started per 100,000 residents in Delaware than in any other state.

The Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurial Activity measures rates of entrepreneurial activity at the individual business owner level and provides estimates for specific demographic groups. Delaware is dead last for the second year in a row (ouch!).
This news will come as no surprise to my entrepreneurial friends out there who have been telling me for years that the State should be doing much more to support and encourage small businesses.
Now they have the data to back it up.
