Delaware DMV Continues to Evolve
The Delaware Department of Motor Vehicles has continued to defy convention by providing speedy, accurate processing of registration and licensing documents. Inspections are a bit less streamlined, but still improved over the old system.
Now comes the latest in a long line of upgrades. L-1 Identity Solutions is providing document solutions, simply called the “Document Verification System” that will allow the DMV to scan and archive documents relating to identification and training certificates. The system will also allow the DMV to verify the authenticity of documents presented for identification. The press release claims…
The DVS will be fully operational in all four DMV facilities by mid-January, and will be a routine part of all DL/ID transactions. It is estimated that it will take an extra two to three minutes per transaction until all staff are completely trained and comfortable with the new system. Following the initial training period, the additional processing time should be less than one minute.
And I have no doubt they will seamlessly integrate this technology. We all remember the bad old days when the DMV was a punchline. Those days are gone.
