Delaware Business Ledger – March 2007 edition
The March 2007 Edition of the Delaware Business Ledger is now available online.
Check out some of the news stories covered in this latest edition:
-
• An uphill battle for Newark assembly
There was a time when Delaware could take comfort in the fact that the auto industry seemed to be somewhat insulated from market pressures…
• The costs of closing Newark assembly
Dollar figures on the costs of shutting down the DaimlerChrysler plant in Newark.
• Change in employer W2s
The Delaware Division of Revenue unveiled its new online filing system recently for businesses to submit W-2 information. Delaware employers can now choose to forego mailing physical media and instead submit virtual information online via Revenue’s website, saving both time and money, says Delaware Division of Revenue Director Patrick Carter. After 2007, employers required to submit Federal W-2 data electronically will also be required to follow the same guidelines when submitting their Delaware withholding online, as the Division will no longer accept withholding information on diskettes, CDs or tapes.
• Successon planning can make a difference.
Keep your business in business even after you are out of the picture. By developing a succession plan, small-business owners and entrepreneurs can spell out the details of the transfer — even outlining the training the next leader must have — and specify how to determine the timing for the successor to take over.
The Business Ledger is published monthly. Subscriptions are available at $24.95 per year in New Castle County; $35 per year outside New Castle County. Single copy, $2. Available at many newsstands in the area. Back issues, $2.50, plus $2 shipping charge.
