Dallas Stars Hockey Team Files for Bankruptcy in Delaware
With the 2011-2012 NHL season just around the corner, why not start your team off right with a bankruptcy, reorganization and sale?
That’s the plan for Dallas Stars owner, and former billionaire Thomas Hicks.
Dallas Stars Hockey Team Files Bankruptcy With Plan for Sale | The case is Dallas Stars LP, 11-12935, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Delaware (Wilmington)
The team listed assets and debt of $100 million to $500 million in Chapter 11 documents filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Delaware. The Dallas Stars said it has filed a “prepackaged” reorganization plan, the company said in a release. Stars officials are seeking to sell the team at an auction. The lead bidder at that auction will be Dallas Sports & Entertainment LP, according to court papers.
First the LA Dodgers, and now the Dallas Stars. It’s been a busy couple of months for pro-sports teams and Wilmington’s Bankruptcy Court!
