Newark Company Provides Skills Training for Transitioning Workers
• VLS IT Consulting was established in 2002 with two employees and today employs 50 people in Delaware, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Illinois and Michigan with projected annual sales of $5 million for 2010. The company expanded by adding training and technology staffing divisions at the height of the economic recession to support the needs of Delaware’s transitioning workforce. Based in Newark, it has training facilities in Dover and Georgetown.
• VLS IT Consulting provides a wide range of services, including custom computer programming services; managed services; management, scientific and technical consulting services; staffing services; computer training and professional and staff development training.
• Lilma Jagnanan and Vibert Sahadatalli of VLS IT Consulting were named SBA’s Minority Small Business Persons of the Year for 2010 in recognition of the company’s growth in sales and employees, response to adversity and contributions to the community.
• It is SBA Regional Administrator John Shoraka’s first visit to Delaware since his appointment in the Obama Administration earlier in December.
