Coalition of Organizations for Delaware Entrepreneurship (CODE) 2012 Conference for Small Businesses

The Coalition of Organizations for Delaware Entrepreneurship (CODE) will hold its fifth annual conference Feb. 25 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront, 815 Justison Street in Wilmington beginning at 8 a.m. The event will provide enlightening guest speakers and beneficial breakout sessions before ending at 2 p.m. Join the Small Business Administration (SBA), SCORE, the Small Business Development and Technology Center (SBTDC) and the Delaware Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship at this valuable event.

The conference will open with networking opportunities to build relationships with like-minded entrepreneurs to benefit your business. During the next session, participants have the opportunity to choose from two breakout topics. The first, intended for emerging businesses, will provide tools to help you define a business idea, assess skills, understand financial requirements, and develop a comprehensive business plan. Existing business owners may prefer to attend the alternate breakout focusing on sound business practices, understanding client needs, and the path to greater profitability.

Additional sessions will focus on the who, what, where, why, and how of business incubators, focusing on and how your business may benefit from the incubator concept. Another session will help uncover a significant business asset that is frequently overlooked. Find out how the resources available at your local public library can greatly assist you with market research, demographic information, and competition analysis to position your business for greater sales and profits.
