Best States for Business – Delaware Ranks #20 on Forbes List
Statistics are just numbers; it’s what you want to see that really matters.
Here’s what Forbes wants to see:
#16 in Business Costs
#8 in Labor Supply
#25 in Regulatory Environment
#42 in Economic Climate
#21 in Growth Prospects
#38 in Quality of Life
Delaware’s positive economic outlook is evidenced by the expectation that jobs are going to increase 2% annually and incomes are going to rise 3.2% over the next five years. More than 50% of U.S. publicly traded companies are incorporated in Delaware because of its business-friendly corporate law. The state’s economic and industrial development is closely tied to the Du Pont family, which founded EI du Pont de Nemours, one of the world’s largest chemical companies.
There’s no measure of the legal systems and access to government, both areas where Delaware scores high, if not top marks (9 years in a row, but who’s counting…).
