Most of us here in Delaware recognize the name of Artesian Water Company. They have been providing water service since 1905 and are the oldest and largest investor-owned public water utility on the Delmarva Peninsula.
Yesterday the Board of Directors of their parent company, Artesian Resources Corporation (Nasdaq: ARTNA), declared the 65th consecutive regular quarterly dividend on the company’s Class A and Class B Common stock.

Artesian is poised to take over wastewater and drinking water services in Cecil County Md as well.
This will allow Cecil County to emulate New Castle County’s growth pattern. Much of rural Cecil Co. will now be available for development at concentrations of 4-12 units per acre.
The water Artesian is going to use to facilitate this expansion actually comes from Pennsylvania and through Delaware. The effluent will be returned to Delaware in the Christina Creek.
