The buzz around town is the 2nd Annual Firefly Music Festival coming to Dover International Speedway June 21-23 with an expanded, extensive list of bands.

Firefly has put Delaware on the music map for thousands of people from around the world who have never been to the First State, and some of whom have never heard of Delaware. After a highly successful inaugural year, this year’s festval promises to be even better. Headliners include Red Hot Chili Peppers and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. Even a local Delaware band,Spinto, made the cut for ths year’s premier music festival.
On the first day of ticket sales, total tickets sold exceeded last year’s total number of tickets sold. As of publication time, most hotels in Kent County reported being sold out, as well as being sold out for the spring NASCAR race. This could indicate increased confidence in the economy.
