2012 State Sales Tax Holidays
State sales tax is a foreign concept to many Delawareans.
It’s well known that the State of Delaware has no sales tax, making shopping destinations like the Concord or Christiana Mall a popular place for nearby tri-state residents to come and do their holiday and annual back to school shopping.
For those residents around the country who are too far from Delaware’s boarders to make the shopping trip here, you may still have some hope.
Some states offer a few days each year for tax-free shopping on certain items.
In August, many of the state sales tax holidays apply to the purchase of school supplies and clothing. The kinds of items that are included and the maximum amount you can spend tax-free varies by state.
